Export package

You can reach this mode...

  • with [x] at cursor position (it's where the package handle shall appear later) or
  • with "Export Package" in Menu Package
  • with the tool to find under

  • Leave this mode: by [ESC] or M12

In TARGET 3001! the act of saving a self drawn package is called "Exporting a package". It is meant not to move a package out of the system towards other systems but to export it from the TARGET 3001!-layout into the component data base.

It is used directly after a package has been drawn. First you need to highlight the complete package by a capture window and move the cursor to the place where the handle cross shall appear. Now use the "Export package" function for saving it to a local library.

Upon which layer a drawing element will appear is controlled by the layer function, not by the layer number. A drawing element exported having layer function "Position top" later will appear on the layer "Position top" independently from the layer number. Thus a correct layer function naming is of importance.

If you wish to transport a component e.g. by eMail, please note: only data bases can be transported, single components can't. This means you need to export the whole component to an individual data base. In consequence this data base might have only one component. Now you can transmit this data base. Another person now might import this component from its data base to another data base.
