Bridge
Also see Zero Ohm Resistor
A "bridge" to be used like a jumper is created during the process of placing tracks if it would not be possible to proceed without crossing (intersecting) another. So it is a gap in the PCB signal track without having an air wire and without having an error message when using the "check project" later.
You get into this mode:
- by pressing the [b] key while in pointer mode or while drawing a track
- by the menu bar selecting "Elements" and then "Place a Bridge"
- by the toolbar selecting and then
It must be seen as a jump when placing tracks for the reason of overcomming barricades. Later the start and the end of the jump have to be soldered by a wire. The bridge itself (black) by default is drawn on layer 21, "Position Top" and will be silk screen .
You can also edit a bridge which has already been created by selecting the bridge with M1 and pressing the [e] (edit) key or by double clicking it with M11.
Remark: Future vias for wired bridges are always free of solderstop varnish and solderpaste.
You can leave this mode by pressing the [Esc] key or by clicking M12.
