After having started TARGET 3001! you're in pointer mode. You can reach the pointer mode from any other mode by pressing [ESC] or reach it directly by using the tool . Settings for the pointer mode please find in the Sidebar to the right of the screen beneath section "Settings":

If one of the following icons is depressed, the clicking of a signal segment in "pointer mode" results in ...
...the selection of that particular segment.
...the selection of a branch of the signal.
...the selection of the connected signal island.
...the selection of the whole signal in that view.

If you click a highlighted segment again, the signal will be highlighted according to the next range (according to the above switches). Repetitive clicking on a signal/track leads to different highlighting ranges.

If one of the following icons is depressed, a "dragged" line segment hit in the middle with [z] or M1H will be ...
... split in two segments (= a new sharp bend).
... changed into an arc.
... changed into a Bezier-curve (spline).

If this tool is pushed, the whole symbol or package will be highlighted if the handle is clicked.
If this tool is pushed, the whole symbol or package will be highlighted if any component element is clicked. If both buttons are pushed, both aspects apply.
Press this button for highlighting all elements of a module if you have defined at least one module.

In the Sidebar you will find bending modes for drawing line elements. Using the space bar during drawing toggles the bending modes.
