Draw any auxiliary line to a lyer of your choice, for example on layer 21. Use the icon with the pencil
and there the icon with the line.
Press keyboard key [o] for options so that the dialog "Line-Options" opens. Now you can define to which layer number the line shall be placed or which style it shall have.
Later you simply can delete it again. You might creat an own layer named "Auxiliary line" or similar where to draw auxiliary lines on. In this situation you can fade them in and out separately on button click.
