Edit component types

Kinds of parameters matching to a certain component type you can find in the tab "Parametric search". Enter values to parameters here in order to search for matching parts in the database. If you want to create new parameters, modify or delete existing ones use menu "Extra/Edit component types":

The following dialog opens. To the left you see the list of component groups and -types, to the right the options to set the parameters for the search in respect to a certain type. The component type LED is selected:

Image 5: A component type is determined by it's name. In this example LED. If wanted you can give names in different languages. Use tabs DE or FR. If you don't enter anything there, the name you had entered to the EN tab will be used.

Image 6: Drop down a list of component groups. The following groups currently can be chosen:

Image 6a: Choose a component group from the list or create a new one which later appears in the list itself.

Image 7: An Alias is a name modification of a component type. A zenerdiode could have the following aliases: Z-Diode or Z Diode or zDiode or Zener-Diode or ZenerDiode. Enter name modifications to the Alias- line separated by a blank. Nevertheless aliases with a blank in the name itself are recognized too e. g. zener diode or pin head

Image 8: A prefix for example is: "D" for "D"iode or "R" für "R"esistor", or "IC" für "I"ntegrated "C"ircuit. The Prefix appears in schematic and board in front of the component name. If the prefixes TARGET 3001! suggests dont please you, you may use individual ones by the field "User".

Image 9: The Info field allows individual comments

Image 10: This is the place where all parameters belonging to a certain component type are maintained. A parameter is determined by name, file type and unit/identifier. The name of the parameter is individual but as file type only a floating point number, integral number or identifier are thinkable.

The file type "floating point number" allows the following units:

Image 10a: Possible continuous units quantifyable by a floating point number. Individual units can be added.

The file type "integral number" allows the following units:

Image 10b: Possible continuous values being represented by a whole number. Individual values can be added.

The file type "identifier" allows the following units:

Image 10c: Possible discrete units being quantified by it's identifier. Individual identifiers can be added.
