Facts in 1990:

Germany is thrilled by the unification, everyone talks about "Die Wende". Lothar de Maizière is the fist and only democratically elected prime minister of the DDR (former East Germany). The Berlin wall is torn down. Mikhail Gorbachev is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Tim Berners-Lee at CERN starts a prototype of HTTP, HTML and a combination of Webserver and Webbrowser on a NeXT-Computer - the worldwide web is born. Germany wins the Soccer World Cup against Argentina 1:0 (Brehme converts a penalty kick). The German animation movie "Balance" wins an Oscar. The first Wacken Open Air festival takes place.
